Communication is about the verbal and non-verbal language.
When verbal possibillities are little and the urge or desire to communicate is big....
How can we understand words, what else can a word mean, what does the sound of the word mean, What does your sound looks like, … where can it bring us.
Joke will tell about her experiences and invites you to explore.
About the speaker

Professionally: She works in The Netherlands as Dramatherpist at STEVIG www.stevig.nl . Therapeutical center for people with mild intellectual disability and psychiatric problems, sometimes forensic profile. Before that she has worked almost 10 years in Het GielsBos, a big residential institute for people with severe developmental retardation and behavior disorders. It took her many efforts to connect and dive in the playspace with the clients whose possibilities of expression are limited. In 2020 she started freelance as Demiclown, half clown, half therapist working with people with dementia (www.demiclowns.be)
At home she’s a committed mother of 2 and she is actively supporting the Belgian Asscocation of Arts Therapists. Besides that she is part of the committee that takes care of the Belgian Registration of Arts Therapists.
