The week

provides 35 training hours for those working towards qualification in DvT

gives the opportunity to gain experience with the method for those who have been introduced to DVT

offers Level 1 trainees the opportunity to deepen your experience by leading individual and group sessions.

provides Level 2 trainees the opportunity to expand your clinical capacities by providing individual therapy, receiving daily group supervision, and you could take opportunity and present before the summerschool community on their unique DvT perspectives and passions.

This year will additionally focus on supporting our and our clients’ playability in the playspace in spite of the ever-growing polarization and divisiveness in our lives and communities. How can we touch upon the unplayable? How can we play with it, play with the OTHER and reach greater levels of dimensionalization? These are some of the questions we will ponder, practice and explore.
The schedule
Each day will begin at 9 am and end at 5 pm to allow participants the time to visit some of the beautiful Belgian cities nearby such as Bruges or Ghent.
Course leaders
The course will be led by Gideon Zehavi, Eva Boorsma, Mathieu Van der Straeten and other DvT faculty members serving as individual therapists for participants.
Gideon Zehavi
is a drama therapy lecturer at the University of Haifa Graduate School for Creative Arts Therapies and at the Tel Hai Academic College MA Drama Therapy Program. He is a graduate of the Institute of Developmental Transformations and an international trainer having led DvT trainings in The Netherlands, The Czech Republic, Hong Kong and ShenZhen as well as numerous DvT workshops worldwide. Gideon heads the Israeli Institute of Developmental Transformations in Tel Aviv and is the incoming Training Director of ShenZhen Institute (DvT Cha). He is a PhD candidate at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Mathieu Van der Straeten
is working as a drama therapist in a psychiatric institution in Belgium where he works with several populations, often in combination with substance abuse. He teaches dramatherapy and Creative Arts Therapies at Artevelde University College Ghent. At both places he has been practicing DvT for several years. Mathieu leads the Belgian DvT institute and is the former president of the Belgian Association of Arts Therapy (BVCT-ABAT) and Vice-president of the Belgian Department of Dramatherapy.
Eva Boorsma
is working as a drama therapist in a school for adolescents with severe behavioral and/or psychiatric problems. In addition she works in a privat practice for adults and children. She is a graduate at the international institute of DvT and co-leads the Northern Dutch training institute, where she leads several training groups and provides training therapy. She has led workshops at national and international conferences and published articles about DvT. As a guest speaker she is connected to the Creative therapy program of the Hogeschool Utrecht University.
The fee
Register before 30th of january 2018
and pay € 595 in stead of € 695
All-in accommodation (overnight stay in dormitory style and all meals for 5 days) is possible for € 225. If you want to arrive the evening before or leave the day after, you can do that for the price of €15 for each extra overnight stay.
Do not book your travel until we confirm your registration! The course is open to a maximum of 16 people.
